Ready to knit your first sweater? This beginner-friendly class uses the Step-by-Step Sweater by 'Handmade by Florence' to guide you through every stage of the process. You'll learn how to choose the right size, read a pattern, knit in the round, shape your garment, and finish your sweater with confidence. If you are ready to tackle your first wearable, this supportive class will help you create a sweater you'll be proud to wear.

PRE-REQUISITES:
- This is not an absolute beginners class. We will not be teaching knitting fundamentals or basic stitches eg. knit, purl.
MATERIALS NEEDED:
Materials for this class are not provided. You are welcome to purchase your materials wherever you wish. Any materials purchased for class at Yarn Therapy during class 1 will receive a 10% discount.
Needles: (It is possible to use the magic loop method to avoid using a 40cm length.)
- 4.5mm circular needles (40cm and 80cm lengths)
- 5.5mm circular needles (40cm and 80cm or 100cm lengths)
Yarn:
- 738 - 1722 yards (675 - 1575 m) Aran weight yarn
Class schedule:
- Introduction. Sweater planning. Cast on.
- Learn about shaping. Begin yoke.
- Finish yoke. Place sleeves on hold.
- Begin body
- Continue body. Troubleshooting.
- Learn to pick up sleeves.
- Continue sleeves.
- Bind off. Learn about finishing/blocking.
