What is needle felting?

Needle felting is a fibre art technique where wool is repeatedly stabbed with a
barbed needle which entangles the fibres to create felt. In 3D needle felting, this
process allows fibres to be sculpted into solid three-dimensional shapes and
forms such as animals, figures, or decorative items. In 2D needle felting, wool is
applied onto a flat surface like a fabric or felt sheet to create images and designs.
Both types are beginner friendly and fun!

ABOUT MEGAN

I am always in search of ways to be creative that are accessible to someone who does not necessarily come by artistic talent naturally. Fortunately, I discovered needle felting and for the last five years have enjoyed exploring the art of painting and sculpting with wool. I find needle felting to be a very ‘slow’ type art where you can learn colour theory, composition, texture and more, at your own pace without being hurried or worried about mistakes. It is truly beginner-friendly for even the most artistically challenged like me!

When I’m not stabbing wool with sharp needles, I work as a communications specialist and Pilates instructor. I spend countless hours doting on my three beautiful bunny rabbits, enjoying the outdoors, doing jigsaw puzzles, and various other things to keep me busy and my brain happy.

I’m looking forward to seeing you in class for your very own felting journey!
